Get ready to shift into adventure mode on our exclusive Full-Day Private UTV Tour — a full-throttle journey through Costa Rica’s stunning Central Pacific backcountry, starting right here in Jaco Beach. With rugged power and unmatched comfort, your UTV is your ticket to an epic day packed with jaw-dropping scenery, hidden gems, and high-energy exploration.
Fire up your UTV and dive into a pulse-pounding full day of private off-road action—this is your VIP ticket to wild terrain and epic thrills!
This is no ordinary tour. Designed for thrill-seekers who crave freedom and flexibility, this full-day private UTV experience is fully customized to match your interests and skill level. Clocking in at nearly 100 kilometers of dynamic terrain, your day will be filled with shifting landscapes—from thick rainforest trails to breezy hilltops, and from rocky riverbeds to charming rural villages untouched by time.
Whether you’re splashing through streams, powering up steep jungle paths, or pausing to enjoy a panoramic ocean view, every mile brings something new. Your bilingual guide knows these backroads like the back of their hand and will tailor your route in real time, ensuring every twist and turn delivers an unforgettable moment.
After we pick you up from your Jaco or Los Suenos location, we’ll get you checked in at our tour headquarters. Here, you’ll gear up with premium safety equipment, go over trail etiquette and handling tips, and take a few practice runs in your UTV to get a feel for the machine. Built for stability and shared excitement, your side-by-side offers a smooth ride even over rough terrain.
When you’re ready, we’ll head straight for the surrounding mountains that rise above Jaco, starting our climb through forest-covered hills and winding dirt tracks. Midway up the range, we’ll take a refreshing break at the scenic Zorro Waterfall—a stunning 35-foot cascade hidden deep in the jungle. While you can't swim at this waterfall because there's no pool, you'll enjoy the cool waters and the serene surroundings of Cascada del Zorro - and fear not! We'll visit a different waterfall for swimming later on.
After snapping some gorgeous pics at Zorro, we’ll climb even higher into the highlands. The road may be bumpy, but your UTV buggy makes it easy to access the kind of views few visitors ever get to see. At the mountaintop lookout, take a moment to absorb a 360-degree panorama of Costa Rica’s diverse terrain. From your vantage point, you’ll see Jaco’s coastline, the Nicoya Peninsula, and even the distant shores of Puntarenas — all framed by rainforest in every direction.
It’s a perfect moment for a bit of Zen, take a deep breath, enjoy the view, and capture a few selfies before we cruise the ridgeline toward Playa Hermosa, catching glimpses of the canopy rolling out beneath us like a living, breathing sea of green.
Our descent begins on the remote paths of La Gloria, winding down into the Tulin River Valley. The route showcases Costa Rica’s rural heart—wild landscapes, sleepy farms, and the occasional curious cow. We’ll make our lunch stop in the hillside village of Mata de Platano, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Costa Rican meal served with authentic hospitality.
A delicious casado—featuring rice, beans, local vegetables, and your choice of protein—gives you the fuel you need for the second half of the day. It’s a satisfying, down-home experience in a spot few tourists ever find.
From there, we venture deeper into the countryside, winding through peaceful hamlets like Montelimar, Angostura, Pavona, and San Gabriel. These tiny villages may be quiet, but they’re rich in personality, each offering a glimpse into Costa Rica’s simple, unhurried way of life.
Eventually, we’ll reach Las Delicias, a small but lively community famous for its motorsports scene despite its tiny population. This mountain outpost draws riders from all over the region for UTV and motocross events, and you’ll feel the pulse of that energy as we pass through.
Our loop continues through Bijagual before we begin our final descent back toward basecamp, where your incredible journey began.
We offer both ATVs and UTVs, (Mules or Rhinos). Our ATVs are 4-wheeled, all-terrain machines with a bar seat and handlebars. ATVs can be used with up to 2 people: a driver and a passenger sitting front to back as you would ride on a motorcycle. Our UTVs are 4-wheeled, all-terrain vehicles that are similar to a small, open-air Jeep with a roll bar, steering wheel and 4 seats. UTVs may be used with up to 4 people sitting side-by-side, (two in the front, two in the back).
No, to ride on an ATV as a passenger have to be older than 5 years old. However, you can do the tour with the infant in their car seat in a Rhino/UTV.
“Side-by-Sides” are also know as UTV’s (Utility Terrain Vehicle). These vehicles look like a cross between an ATV and a dune buggy. The driver and the passenger sit side by side which is where the name was derived. Most UTV’s also have rear seating which makes this a great option for families that want to get out and explore the rainforest.
Sorry, but no. We do have motorcycles for rent to customers with a valid motorcycle license. However, our ATVs and UTVs are available for guided tours only. We do not offer ATVs or Rhinos for private rentals outside of the tours we offer.

This was my first time driving a UTV and I loved every second of it. The route we took had everything from waterfalls to incredible view points. Thank you adventure Tours.
We went off roading last year with a different company and it was no where near as good as this. These guys are pros. We got to CR once every year and we're going to book with you from now on. The machines were great, the guides were cool and we had a blast at the waterfall. Good food too. If you’re on the fence, just book it.”
My husband and I took this tour for our anniversary, and it was incredible! The lunch was so tasty and the scenery was unforgettable. 5 stars
The buggies are super fun, and you get to see parts of Costa Rica you can't normally get to. It was really neat seeing the way they live life away from the main strip.
This was the best thing we did in Costa Rica! The buggy handled everything - bumps, hills, rivers. No problem! The views were unbelievable. Our guide was super fun and knowledgeable. Can’t recommend it enough!
Climbing mountains in a buggy! This was such an epic adventure. Shoutout to our guide Jordan who made the whole experience even better!
I booked this tour as a surprise for my boyfriend’s birthday, and it was a hit. The trails were challenging and really fun. The waterfall was stunning.
My whole family did the full day tour, and it was the highlight of our vacation. My teens are still talking about this. A perfect family outing.
I was a little nervous about driving at first, but the guides were patient and helpful. By the end, I felt like a total pro. The kids and I had an amazing time while my husband was out fishing for the day. The waterfall swim was the best!
As someone who loves off roading, this tour exceeded my expectations. The guides are pros and the terrain is no joke. Do this tour!
The mix of adrenaline and nature was perfect. Water crossings, jungle trails, mountaintop views—it was a really great day. The guides made sure we felt safe and we had an amazing time.
We’ve done off roading tours before, but nothing compares to this. The waterfall was beautiful. Lunch was delicious. It felt like a real Costa Rican experience, not some tourist trap. I'd do this again any day.
