Hello from Costa Rica-
The Los Suenos offshore fishing bite has sped up and then slowed down just a bit in the last month.
You can expect to see about two to six bite in a day from sailfish. There has been a good amount of Mahi-mahi that we’re finding near the tunas and catching several on live bait, or poppers.
The Yellow-fin tunas, however, have been showing up steadily – seeing 50 – 60lbs. almost every day. There have been bigger ones caught in the area, but most of the really big tunas will typically be coming in the next few months during a normal season. The tunas caught lately have been a tough fight, and an awesome meal to prepare at home – we ate a ton right out of the bag with a little sesame oil and soy – delicious.
Los Suenos inshore fishing has been very good with a mixed bag of species. We have been seeing plenty of big Roosterfish, Snappers and Amberjacks over the past couple months, and there are several other species you can catch throughout the day.
The weather has been mostly sunny to partly cloudy throughout the day on most days, getting cloudier later in the day, with afternoon or evening showers a couple day a week. The afternoon rains and occasionally cloud cover are working out perfect to cool things down a bit, but there is plenty of warm and sunny time to get out and experience the amazing Costa Rica fishing durning the day.-
That’s all to report for this time.
