Hello From Costa Rica!
The fishing in Costa Rica and Los Suenos is great right now. All the red tide is gone and the bite is unreal.
For Los Suenos offshore fishing, the bite has moved back in. There are good numbers of sailfish and marlin getting caught 20-35 miles from the marina.
There’s a few Dorado and their numbers should be picking up in the next few weeks.
We are also starting to see the yellow fin tunas. We are getting close to prime tuna season, and by late May, they should be very regular again near Los Suenos. We get some nice-sized yellow fin tunas here May- Oct. 50-100 pounds are normal, and they get up to 300lbs here!
The inshore bottom fishing near Los Suenos has been very good for snappers and grouper which make an excellent meal. There have also been good numbers of rooster fish along the rocks and beaches.
The Costa Rica weather has been gorgeous over the past few week with sunny skies and just a little cloud cover building in the afternoon. Temperatures are in the upper 80’s during the day, and upper 70’s at night. The seas have been very flat and calm with just a slight breeze - perfect for great Costa Rica Fishing.
FYI – Yesterday we were 14 for 20 on sails!
