May is also a perfect month for fishing in the inshore waters off Los Suenos. From May to August, Wahoo dominate. While inshore fishing involves fishing closer to the shore and targeting smaller species, a day inshore isn’t any less exciting than deep sea fishing. Inshore is perfect for anglers of all skill levels, and the variety of fish that can be caught during May is truly impressive. One of the most prized catches during this time of year is the Roosterfish. This species is known for its distinctive appearance, with a spiny combed-back crest. Notorious fighters, Roosters are as challenging as they are rewarding to catch. Other species you can encounter in May include Snapper, Grouper, and Mackerel, which can be found hiding between rocks or lurking near flotsam.
