From May onward, the big game sportsfishing out of Los Suenos Marina has been fantastic. A high population of bonito and smaller Yellowfin tuna have kept the calm Pacific waters off of Los Suenos Marina flush with Blue and Black Fin Marlin and ripe for offshore trolling. We have been steadily getting as many as 5 or more bites per day from these ultimate gamefish. Weighing in at approximately 200-350 lbs., their explosive, raw power makes Blue Marlin one of the most exciting catches an angler could hope for. With numbers like we have been seeing, we expect the Marlin population to remain excellent throughout the remainder of green season and continue going strong straight through to December.
Inshore fishing has been excellent for exotic Roosterfish. A notoriously tough fighter, these spectacular fish always make for an exhilarating catch. In addition, we've been seeing a good show of delicious snappers, along with great numbers of grouper and tilefish. Bottom fishing at approximately 200-300 ft. has proved very productive inshore.
Mahi Mahi/Dorado should be showing up as early as August, with huge numbers expected by September and lasting through until December. We expect to see the populations of big game Tuna pickup up soon as well, along with the exciting Sailfish that have made Los Suenos Sportsfishing world famous.
