Increasingly, the “staycation” is taking hold as the vacation of choice for many people, and in some cases this is for budget reasons: money has been tight the past few years after all, and it sometimes just makes financial sense not to go away for your vacation. On the other hand, some choose the staycation because a vacation away can sometimes prove too exhausting!
That’s right: you can come away from your vacation more tired and worn out than when you left! It’s strange but true. With all of the travel, the packing and unpacking, the shuttling from one point to another, the sightseeing, the meeting of new and interesting people, the events and shows and exhibits and attractions, it’s easy to see why you would be absolutely bone-dead tired by the end of your vacation. The problem is, as much fun as you had, you now have to go back to your job – and you’re not feeling at all refreshed. That seems rather counterintuitive, doesn’t it?
We thought so, which is why Adventure Tours Costa Rica offers the Costa Rica Segway Tours. A Segway, in case you aren’t aware, is an upright, electric-powered vehicle that you can stand on and easily steer. They can be used in a variety of environments, including urban and indoors environments, but much of this tour happens outdoors – and our Segways are equipped for off-roading!
The tour begins in the Adventure Tours Costa Rica offices in Manuel Antonio Marina, where you will receive training on how to ride the Segway; it’s an easy ride, but there are a few intricacies and things to watch out for that you would be wise to learn before heading out to “off-road Segway”! Your first ride on the Segway will be to Nahomi Park, a short but beautiful trip that will provide you with a great view of the Pacific Ocean. A variety of apes and other wildlife live in the area, providing a variety of photo opportunities for you and your family.
From there, you will board a ferry and head to Cocal Island, where you will ride the island’s trails through its jungles, enjoying local wildlife and plants that the majority of the world has never seen before. We’ll stop at a local sugar cane plantation and meet a small colony of villagers living on the island before finally headed back for the day!
In the end, you won’t feel tired at all – at least, not more than you would be having spent your day taking photos and enjoying few good meals! That’s just the magic of the Segway in Costa Rica.
